+ The Board of Directors is elected annually by the members of the MNPROA. The Board is responsible for all decisions regarding the association’s programs, finances, and operations. Officers and Directors serve two-year terms and may be reelected to successive terms. The Board meets monthly at a location somewhere in Minnesota, usually on the first Monday of the month.

Mary E. McDonald
Reserve Commander
St. Paul Police Department
+ Mary is a 26-year veteran with the St. Paul Police Reserves. She has held the position of Event Commander since 2000. As the Event Commander, Mary has been responsible for the logistics, planning and implementation of all the events that involve the St. Paul Police Reserves. Mary is also the head traffic instructor for the St Paul Police Department and St Paul Parks Department, training St Paul Police Officers, Reserves, Explorers and Park Security, and several outside agencies. Mary is constantly in the top five hours in Volunteer Hours donating in excess of 400 hours a year. Mary enjoys watching Motorsports and crocheting blankets for the terminally ill children in the hospitals. Mary is employed by the City of Saint Paul as an Office Assistant to the Western Police District Commanders.

Debra Olson
Reserve Sergeant
Brooklyn Park Police Department
+ Debra has been a Reserve Officer with the Brooklyn Park Police Department since 2008. In addition to her regular Reserve duties, she is a Field Training Officer and Student Advisor to the new Reserves joining the unit. Debra is also a member of Reserve Police Officers Association and National Reserve Law Officers Association. She comes to us with previous board experience, having served on 3 other boards in the past 15 years. Professionally, Debra is employed by an engineering consulting firm as a senior electrical controls designer and project coordinator. When not volunteering Debra enjoys spending time with family, photography, training parrots and horseback riding.

Gero Bazant
Reserve Sergeant
New Brighton Police Department
+ Gero is currently a Reserve Sergeant with the New Brighton Police Department where he has served for the past 11 years -- two of those as Officer of the Year. Professionally, he is a software developer at a power sports company in the Twin Cities. When not working or volunteering he spends time with his wife and six kids and enjoys preparing for the next big bicycle tour.

Mike Wellington
Reserve Officer
St. Cloud Police Department
+ Mike is a four-year veteran with the St. Cloud Police Reserves. He was born and raised in Clarkfield, MN and has worked in the field of computer hardware for many years. Currently he is the supervisor of the managed services division at Marco. Mike has two children and in his free time enjoys pheasant hunting, deer hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family.
